AM Best and Demotech are two companies that provide consumers ratings for insurance carriers in coastal states, such as California and Florida. AM Best has been around for over 100 years, and Demotech entered the market in 1985. They’re both officially recognized by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They’re also both well respected within the insurance industry and have provided valuable guidance for thousands of insurance consumers. 

There are many insurance companies that insure manufactured homes. From State Farm to Geico to USAA, most of the major insurance companies have an option for manufactured homes. Yes, there are several different types of insurance available for homeowners – eight, in fact. The different types are classified as HO-1 through HO-8. Each is designed for a different type of home, with HO-7 being the type of insurance for modular and manufactured homeowners.
